Fire safe cultural heritage

How can we make our cultural heritage fire safe?

In a new project in FRIC, we focus on fire safety in existing buildings and cultural heritage buildings. This winter, FRIC researchers are visiting various heritage buildings to learn more about current solutions and explore ways to improve them.

Cultural heritage is invaluable, and protecting them from fires requires specialized fire safety expertise. In Norway, many historic buildings feature timber structures and complex designs, which makes fire protection complex.

This project is called project 3.3 "Existing and Cultural Heritage Buildings", and is a part of WP3 on Fire Safe Buildings. Here you may find an overview of all FRIC projects: https://fric.no/en/research-areas

We will share results and insights from the project here, so stay tuned!
